Life Insurance Tip:
Maintain Your Good Health
Life insurance companies pay if you die, so they're most interested in having a healthy clientele. Many companies perform physical checkups on new customers before they issue a new or renewed policy, especially if that policy is for a large amount of money. They are then likely to turn you down if you are overweight, have bad cholesterol, have high blood pressure, have a history (or a family history) of disease, use tobacco or alchohol, or have many other life-reducing ailments. You may still be able to buy a policy, but it will be a "rated" policy, meaning that it will cost you more because their risk that you are going to die before the policy expires is higher. So not only is good health a good idea, it saves you money!
