Life Insurance Tip:
Understanding Term Life Policy Lengths
When you buy term life insurance, you can buy it in several different guaranteed premium time periods. This means that your premium will remain the same for that amount of time. So, if you select a 10-year policy that costs you $500 per year, you are guaranteed that, as long as you keep making the payments, you will be able to buy that same amount of insurance benefit for that number of years, no matter how your health deteriorates.
Term life is often available in 1 year, 10 year, 15 year and 20 year increments, with the cost that you pay increasing as the number of years your premium is guaranteed increases.
We usually like to buy 10 year policies, feeling they give the best value.
